The Fiery Heart - Richelle Mead Teasers

Teasers from Richelle Mead for the Fiery Heart!

"An image of Sydney's face appeared in my mind, calm and lovely. I believe in you.
My anxiety faded. I took a deep breath breath and met the gazes of those watching me in the room. Who was I to do this?
I was Adrian Ivashkov.
And I was about to kick some ass."

"Sydney spent a lot of time in my bed these days. Unfortunately, it wasn't with me."

"She stood on her tiptoes to kiss me goodbye. "You already are," she murmured. I watched her disappear into the night and hoped I'd been telling her the truth."

The Fiery Heart is set to be in both the POVs of Sydney and... Adrian! We're going to be able to take a look into the mysteries that make up the famous Adrian Ivashkov! Who's excited? I know I am!

The Fiery Heart is set to be released November 19th this year! Pre-orders can be found on Amazon / Barnes and Noble / The Book Depository

144 days left to go!

With love to our fellow readers, always,

Obsession - Jennifer L. Armentrout

“Never in my life had I been more frustrated. Go figure it wouldn't be with a human but a freaking alien. At least I now knew that the male species were asses no matter what planet they hailed from.

~Serena Cross, page number unknown at the time

Serena Cross is a 23 year old school counsellor, Hunter is an Arum commanded to protect her from the Luxen who would have her dead, and are willing to hunt her forever to ensure she dies. Both with fiery tempers, neither willing to submit to the other. Throw these together in a big house with just the two of them. What will you get? A hell of a lot of fire. In this spin-off of the Lux series, experience the Arum in a new, sinfully delicious way.

Arya: Let me say this first: I have always loved Jennifer L. Armentrout; always loved her books, always loved her characters, plot, and every single thing she's ever written. I've loved all of them forever, even when I was hesitant to try them out. This book was no exception. I really sped through this, even though I did actually have a few problems with it...
First impression: when I saw the cover of this book, the first words to cross my mind were Hot. DAMN. I thought this would be under Jen's pen name, J.Lynn, especially considering the content (there's a hint to all of ya!), but no, it was under Jen's own name, probably because of the relation to the Lux series.
Now, in this book, we see the Arum, the hunters of the Lux, in a whole new way, particularly since our muscular, sexy hunk of meat is an Arum. With masterful hands, Jen pulls in all we knew about them, and twists it all up again. For those who thought the Arum were mindless, killing machines? Yeah, I did too, but no. She proves to us in this sexy novel that they actually have a heart, care for others. It's just not normal.
I actually thought that Hunter was a really sexy guy, with his forceful nature and attitude, but as the novel progressed, he lost some of the domineering nature and began really caring for Serena, loving her, treating her with care. I kind of lost it at that point, when he got all soft and mushy. However, it does actually fit perfectly well, softening him, making him more human. There was the problem that I didn't appreciate how quickly Hunter got attracted to Serena, how quickly he made his move, and I didn't really like how easily Serena responded to it, as if he wasn't a stranger. It bothered me a bit. However, it made more sense as the novel progressed, as they got to know each other and care for each other. That part I was alright with. I just wish he'd kept his attitude. Serena on the other hand, she accepted her situation way too quickly, thinking too little 'what the hell?!?!' and too much 'sure, that's cool'. However, her character did stay consistent throughout the entire novel, something I quite liked myself, and she was a really good heroine for this story. I loved her myself xD
Jen also tortured me in this novel; she gave us a hint, just a taste, of Hunter meeting Daemon, but there were no details. It completely destroyed me! I wanted to see, desperately, how it would all play out, how she would pit them against, or for each other! But she denied it to me T_T. However, she has mentioned that she might put the scene into Origin, so fingers crossed! I want that scene! A fight between a sexy, arrogant Arum and an even sexier, equally arrogant Luxen? Sign me up! I want it!
If you love books with a  very, very, drop-your-panties sexy guy, who changes heart and becomes soft, this is most definitely for you. (seriously though; I can't think of any girl who wouldn't drop their panties for this guy. Mmm, Daemon-Hunter sandwich; now that's yummy x'D Kidding!) You'll love it, for sure.

What will it be? I'm thinking...

Yeah, I couldn't find a book trailer... but in exchange...

Origin Teasers! You. Will. Want. This. Book!

All the pent up, helpless rage formed a wrecking ball inside of me. Maintaining human form was near impossible. I wanted to hit something—destroy something. I needed to.

"Daemon, no one—"
"Shut up," I said, turning to where Matthew sat in the corner of the room. Right this moment I wanted to destroy him. "Just shut the hell up."

"We can't lose you," she said after a few moments of awkward as hell silence. "You have to understand that we aren't doing this because we don't care about Kat. We're doing this because we love you."
"But I love her," I said without hesitation.
Dee's eyes widened, probably since it was the first time she'd heard me say it out loud, well, about anyone other than my family. I wished I had said it more often, especially to Kat. Funny how that kind of shit always turns out in the end. While you're deep in something, you never say or do what you need to. It's always after the fact, when it's too late that you realize what you've should've said or done.
It couldn't be too late. I knew that. The fact that I was still alive was testament to that. Like Dee said, though, there were worse things than death.

"I want a years-worth of seconds and minutes with you. I want a decade's worth of hours, so many that I can't add them up."

Did those make you swoon as much as they made me? I bet they did! Can't wait for it to come out! All the love to Jennifer L. Armentrout!

See you all next time!

The Goddess Inheritance by Aimee Carter

Kay's Review:

NOTE: REVIEW IS FULL OF SPOILERS!!!
The Goddess Inheritance by Aimee Carter is the final book in the series the Goddess Test
From the last book we found that Kate was pregnant and was kidnapped by Calliope, all thanks to Ava, this book begins where the second book was left off, and we were able to find out that Walter knew all about Kate's imprisonment, and didn't tell Henry! I was like... 'What?! Are you serious?" oh and later in the book it turns out Kate is also HIS DAUGHTER!
When Henry finds out that Kate is kidnapped, of course he goes saves the love of his life, and Calliope stabs him with a dagger that is forged to kill the "gods and goddesses". The Kate was able to get saved, but her son (yes she has a son named Milo) gets left behind! How the heck does that happen?? Ok, then turns out Chronus (he was released from his imprisonment in Tartarus in the last book) has this creepy infatuation for Kate. A whole lot of creepy things happen between him and Kate, and in the end it turns out to save Henry, who is teetering on the brink of death, is to find a Titan to save him. Titan #1:Chronus, obviously not a choice. Titan#2: Rhea, the only Titan who wasn't imprisoned, was the only choice.
We FINALLY meet Rhea and it turns out that she won't fight against her evil husband (GUYS COME ON, it makes sense why she refuses to hurt her husband, but he's trying to KILL THEIR KIDS! I thought mothers would rather protect their kids first...) But it turns out she is willing to take care and save Henry from  his dagger's wound.
Then Henry does his magicky transport thing, and pops up out of no where, a bunch oh I miss you and love you stuff happen, and off they go to figure out a way to save their son. All while Chronus is slowly wiping out  the world with tsunamis.
OK, you have to read the rest.. only if you want to, but to sum it up:
- Henry decides to go undercover (by pretending to love Calliope, because she has this creepy stalker love thing going for him)
-Kate finds a way to save him with all his past lovers, and failed testers
-Persephone makes a cameo
-Some people die
-Chronus is captured
-Secrets come out
-Everyone is (almost) happy
-Milo, Kate and Henry becomes one big happy family.

Oh, not to mention, at the end of the book, it turns out there will be another series, where someone else goes through another set of tests to become a goddess, to replace the one who died (yes it's a goddess).

Final Opinion:
The first book the Goddess Test was mesmerizing and amazing which led me to become very excited for the Goddess Interrupted which turned out pretty good too. However, The Goddess Inheritance was very anticipated, and when I got it, I literally squealed in excitement, and it turns out to be a huge disappointment. I expected more action, less talking, and more romance ( I get there is a war going on... but still!) Basically after so much excitement  JUST WAITING for the book, it was very slow and I hate to say it, pretty boring.
Not to mention there may (most likely) be another series that is similar, set in the future (omg a dystopia-caste style one) I'm not exactly excited for it due to the let down of this one. I guess time will tell!

Rating:
5/10 stars
(cause there was a bit of a happy ending)

School Spirits by Rachel Hawkins

"Her head jerked up, lips curling back in a snarl, and I stepped back. The cold metal of the lockers pressed against my shoulders, and I swallowed hard. "You can't stay-" I started, and then there was a rush of wind as she suddenly surged forward." Pg. 137

School Spirits is a spin off series of Rachel Hawkin's Hex Hall series, following Isolde Brannick as she navigates the dangers of high school life when her mother decides it's time to stop searching for the missing Finley and move on. This is the story of  Sophie's headstrong cousin as she searches for a ghost, makes friends, tries to fit in, and ultimately falls in love.

Arya: Hey hey hey! I'm back! I'm sorry that Kay can't be here with me; she actually didn't read this book, but still, at least you have me right? Yeah, that doesn't sound too great does it? Anyways, I've already read The Hex Hall series, and I seriously loved it; I could not get enough of it, so when I heard that the spin off was out, I just had to get my hands on it! School Spirits takes us back to the world we know and love when Rachel Hawkins brought us the Hex Hall series - I love Archer in that book; his name was so sexy! - but this time we follow Sophie's headstrong cousin, Isolde, or Izzy for short. Izzy is an amazingly realistic character, with strong characteristics, and it doesn't hurt too much that she's beautiful too! I mean, look at that cover; if that doesn't scream, "Read me! I'm a beautiful, butt-kicking heroine who will knock your socks off!" then I do not know what does. However, I found that Dex lacked a bit of that 'oomph' needed to make a strong, sexy male lead, but he had the cute, really sweet part down pat! I loved the way he dressed, the way he stood out in the crowd and owned it completely; it was really amazing. Not much to say on Romy and Anderson; while I found them cute and helped to move the story along, they weren't really important until the end. However, while I found the twists in the plot good, they were a bit weak, without too much foreshadowing or hints, but the twist at the end of the book was awesome! But I did have a slight problem with the ending scene where Mary was gotten rid of; it seemed too quick, too 'pop and it's done'. I happen to like fighting scenes, so... yeah. Anyways, I also found that the plot was a bit weak, the middle just a bit too boring for my tastes, but the ending happened too quickly. It was just suddenly, ghost there, ghost gone, all done. It didn't have the skillful manipulating from Hex Hall that I loved, so this one just kind of felt... worse to me. It was still a good book in general, it just didn't have that factor that made it excellent. The characters didn't have any catchy lines, as you can probably tell from my attempt at putting a good quote at the top, and while the book did speed through, it was also like everything blended in together, but no big events in the middle. Judging by the ending, it does seem like there might be another book in the series, but it has not been confirmed. If there isn't, this Arya will not be a very happy camper. I would suggest this to readers who like a slower paced book, who find twists and turns annoying, and who aren't such big fans of fights, but love sweet, dorky guys who can make you melt with their thoughtfulness.Rachel Hawkins proves in this book that chivalry does actually still exist.

I bring you my rating... what will it be?

7 stars out of 10

I couldn't actually find a book trailer, so... sorry! Maybe this will make up for it though...

"Pressing myself against the wall, i struggled to open the folder and not get run over. As i did, I kept a running monologue with myself. Oh my God, chill out. Your heart is going a million miles an hour over a bunch of kids? You fight monsters. Get a hold of yourself Brannick.
And I'd almost managed to do that when a boy nearly a foot taller than me collided with my shoulder, sending the folder spinning out of my hands, papers scattering everywhere." Pg. 48

"Mom turned. "Do you want me to wait with you?"
I did. A lot. Why was hunting monsters less scary than waiting by a freaking stop sign in the suburbs?"

I love Rachel in these parts; making high school seem scarier than hunting evil monsters of the night xD.

Thanks for taking the time to see me again! Happy reading!
