What's Left of Me by Amanda Maxlyn

18480026
There are times I already feel trapped in this life I live by not being able to do the things I want, and now I’m being forced to pick up my life and move to a brand new city, locked away from society and my friends.  I want what’s best for my health, but it feels as if no one seems to care about the things that matter the most to me, despite how many times I try to tell them.
Cancer.
It can break you.  Or it can make you stronger.  I choose stronger.
I choose survival.

Aundrea is a survivor, cancer a word that gives everyone a sick feeling in their stomach when they hear it is how Aundrea have been living for the past 5 years. Diagnosed at 17 she learned to cope and survive through the treatments she had to endure. After moving to a new city to undergo another treatment she was ready to simply survive another day... what she wasn't expecting was Parker.

Parker is one of the best book boyfriends you can ever have. He is sweet, caring and unbelievably loyal. The epilogue had tears streaming down my face...
I think that this book was able to capture some of the experiences that people have to go through. It was Maxlyn's first novel and as much as I love that it was a standalone (for now) I really hope for a sequel! IT was detailed and oh so moving. I think Maxlyn really captured the main aspects in a real life relationship... and even though it was mainly Aundrea's POV you can also see the struggles that Parker is trying to go through. I also find myself riding along the same emotional roller coasters the characters are going through. They are relatable and the supporting characters are really developed. I had expected a different book, one that is all fairytales and only the good parts of a struggling cancer victim with a HEA... however Maxlyn was really able to show many aspects of it!

AAH please let there be a sequel!! preferably in Parker's POV!!!

Elect by Rachel Van Dyken

"The men were watching and hopefully so was my father. He'd think I'd tied up one loose end. Oddly enough, this might make him play perfectly into my hands. The sick thing was, that as much as I'd asked all my men to protect her, nobody ran to my side when I shot her - nobody blinked. My family officially sucked."
~Elect

Would you die for the one you love?
Nixon Abandonato made his choice. And now he has to pay the price. Tracey is the love of his life, but being with him has made her a target of his family's enemies. The only way to keep Trace alive is convince the world she means nothing to him.

Trace Rooks has fallen irrevocably in love with the son of her family's sworn rival, and she knows in her bones nothing can tear them apart. Until Nix suddenly pushes her away and into the arms of his best friend... But Trace isn't ready to give up on a future with Nix--and if he won't fight for them, she will.

In the end, a sacrifice must be made. A life for a life. For what better way to cover a multitude of sins than with the blood of a sinner . . .

Arya: Again, I was stepping out of my comfort zone when I read this, and damn am I glad I did! It took me until the third page or so until I decided I had no idea what was happening and had to read the first book, Elite - by the way, that book so good I could barely put it down, not even when I had to sleep because my parents were yelling at me. Afterwards, when I was done Elite, I could barely wait to get my hands on Elect. It's very hard to say that this book didn't disappoint me just a little bit. Sure, the plot line was great, but I found it moved a bit slow paced for me. There were so many intricacies that I almost found it hard to breathe, and there were so emotions that almost made me fear for my own life, but everything was moving along so slowly it made it hard to really concentrate on the plot itself. Of course there were the customary intense and 'wait what?' scenes, but they were few and far in between, making the middle just a mess of emotions. Generally, I love reading from the guy's point of view, but this one? Ah, not really to my own taste.
Nixon: Damn, I'd love to hate him, and I almost did when I read Elite, but damn, that boy makes it very hard to hate him! In this book, we finally see the emotions behind the man, and why he did things the way he did. I'd love to label him under Cute Bastards, but I can't do that either! The man is noble to almost a fault! Except that cutesy part that I love. It's so adorable I was smiling like a fangirl and my parents asked me what was wrong with me. Still, all the raw emotions in him really came out in this book and made me groan and curse when Trace was hurting him, even though she didn't know it. I really wanted to take her and smack her a few times and yell if she was blind. Because really, she kind of acts it, and I'm not even joking about that. The final entrance right there at the end? Man, that was truly a work of art. I was holding my breath and cheering him on the entire time! I just love him, I love his devotion to Trace and his nobility. He really is a truly admirable person, probably the most admirable I've read in a long time, though he does have a tendency to overdo it a bit...
Chase: What to say about him? Damn, I wanted to smack him as many times as I wanted to cry for the unfairness of his situation, and let me tell you, that was more than I like to admit. The entire time, I knew Chase was in love with Trace from the first book, but in this one, we finally see the full extent of his suffering. It isn't some minor, measly crush, oh no. This is a full on I'm-going-to-lose-my-mind-if-I-don't-have-you love. I'd like to say that he, like his cousin, is noble, but if I did, I'd be lying. He's a lot more selfish than Nixon, and in a way, it makes him a bit more believable, and no less sexier. The way he dealt with things while Nixon was gone? One would be hard pressed to find a better way to act than he did. There's so little to say about Chase, other than what was said above, and his relationship with Mil. Damn, that ending? My mouth just dropped. Seriously. I had no idea at all what to say to it. Of course, right before that is the redemption scene, when the cousins forgive each other and all is kind of right again. At first, when I read that I was like, 'yeah, this is gonna be a good ending', and then I saw that last line. The only word that ran through my brain was 'what?'. Over and over again. I read that line so many times it flashed before my eyes. Shocked is too weak a word for what I felt. Just... damn. But a hell of a good ending.
Definitely a great book. Not as great as the first one, but still pretty decent. The intricacies and twists in this plot were absolutely to die for, and really kind of reminded me of Sarah J. Maas' Throne of Glass. They both have this ingenuity to the twisting that just takes my breath away and makes me wonder if the authors are geniuses. I loved the twists and I loved the emotions in this book. I absolutely can't wait for Entice to come out.

8.5 stars! Well done!
Can't wait to read the next books of this series!
I'm seriously going to be counting the days until it comes out.

I'm afraid that's it for today, but not to worry! We'll have something up again as soon as we can! But until then, from our Infinite Worlds to yours,
much love,

Bitter Sweet Love by Jennifer L. Armentrout

"He dropped his hands and straightened. "Maybe at the end of these seven days, you'll still say no. That doesn't mean it's over. I'm in this for the long haul."
Warmth bubbled up in my chest in response to his words. "What if I find someone else?"
His eyes narrowed. "I doubt that's going to happen."
"You never know."
"Oh I know." "
~Bitter Sweet Love

In a sizzling prequel novella to her new series THE DARK ELEMENTS, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout draws readers into the extraordinary, irresistible world of Wardens and demons.
Dez wasn't just Jasmine's crush. A gargoyle Warden like Jas, he helped her come to terms with her destiny—fending off demons and maintaining balance between good and evil. He was her everything...right until the moment he disappeared without a trace. It didn't help that Jas's father had just announced that she and Dez would one day be mated. Hard not to take that personally.
And now he's back, three years older, ten times hotter, ready to pick up exactly where they left off. But Jas isn't taking that risk again. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again...
Arya: I have no words. Really. Well, I do, but a lot of the time I was reading this, my mind was going "What the hell" on me. Seriously. While I was reading Jen's blog, I happened to stumble upon the word 'gargoyle'. I was curious to see what she would do with it, because seriously, how do you make those little trolls hot? I couldn't picture it no matter how hard I tried. And again I was astounded by her brilliance. People that become stone solid? Man, I feel as if I should have seen it coming, but still didn't. I almost wanted to facepalm myself when I finally understood. This book just took me through it all, just like all of Jennifer's pieces. I was happy for a while, stifling my laughter later, and sighing with mushiness afterwards. The emotion I didn't feel a hell lot of though, was fear. That was the one bit that bothered me. Sure, they fought a few demons, but through it, it didn't really feel real, as if it was almost guaranteed that they would make it through. Well, let's get started.
Jasmine: The one thing I love most about this chick is that she made him sweat it out. She made Dez actually worry about whether or not she was going to say yes to him, and I absolutely loved it. The second part? She didn't just run into his arms when he came back! And she stayed mad at him for a while too! A lot of books seem to shorten out the anger part, maybe because it brings icky feelings, but this one? Of course like all good heroines, she had a healthy amount of curiosity, and that independent factor. There really isn't much to say about Jasmine, except that... she was really kind of plain. It was hard to find anything overly significant about her. I mean that in a way like, Alex had her attitude and Kat has her independence and sense of justice, but Jasmine, it was really hard to find anything about her that stood out compared to other characters. The story itself was great, but I felt as if the heroine could have been improved a bit.
Dez: Damn, what to say about Dez? Did I like him? Yes. Did I find him sexy in protectiveness? Absolutely. Was he overpowered? Hell yes. Of course everyone likes it when the guy conquers evil, but it got to the point where it seemed a bit unrealistic. There was so little weakness about him during the fight, as if it were guaranteed for him to win, and there couldn't be another possible outcome. That was the first thing I noticed about him. The second, though this I have absolutely no complaint about, was that he was really just so noble. He went away for partly himself, yes, but also so that he could be a better mate for Jasmine. Cute bastard. That's my new term for all these guys. He was mean about leaving without a goodbye, and he has this arrogant attitude, but damn, he's still sexy. Of course, to top it off, we have the generous dose of tortured past. Really, what good male character doesn't have that? I certainly can't think of any right now.
All in all, pretty good book, kinda unrealistic, but still heart-thumping and swoon-worthy. If you want something new, this is definitely the book to read.

8 stars out of 10!
Well done and keep up the incredible work!
Can't wait for White Hot Kiss!
Oh the different coloured stars xD Aren't they pretty?

We got one more post for today, so keep looking!
But until we're done with it...

Crash Into You by Katie McGarry

"My mother places a hand over her mouth, and a sickening pain strangles my gut when I realize I spoke every thought I've had since I can remember. My body shakes and I run a hand through my hair. What have I done?"
~Crash Into You

From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

Arya: Heeeey! Sorry we've been away; school's been a killer for the past few weeks. Anyways, let's get started. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started reading this, since for those who keep track of this blog, I generally deal with the paranormal sexiness, not perfectly normal things. However, I thought with this one, I might actually give it a shot. And I loved it. At first, I was hesitant to read it, thinking it would be cheesy, but damn! Katie definitely blew my mind away.
Let's start with Rachel. When I first read about her, damn, my heart almost broke. To have to replace your older sister when you're almost the polar opposite? I couldn't image such a life, and really, to be able to survive this long without exploding. She is truly admirable. Furthermore, really, to think you're weak, and to have your siblings, even your twin brother support? Damn, that's intense, and really, I felt a pang of betrayal as if it were me! To be able to do that, you know the author's damn awesome xD. Anyways, when Rachel first met Isaiah, I was like, hell yes! Finally! By the end of the story, she was perfect. She stood up for herself and for what she wanted, but at the end in the accident? I shudder just thinking about it. I could be as patient as her. What a truly admirable person.
Isaiah: I frankly didn't like Isaiah very much in either of the first books, but I did feel pity for him in Dare You To, especially with the way Beth was treating him. Who deserves to get their heart broken by their best friend? But finally, in Crash Into You... I was almost squealing when he finally found someone. Really, he's been through a lot. When I found out what was happening with his mother, I almost broke down for him, which would be kind of awkward considering I was in school... but either way, I wanted to spend so much time ranting at his mother for being so mean to him! He was such a good kid too! Isaiah seems to get softer in this book, though he never really loses the slight punkish edge. He just becomes a bit kinder to the people around him, unless of course he decides he doesn't like that person. His protective streak, his honour all stunned me to speechlessness. I mean, to help a girl who just went back for you like a decent person? Damn, that's pretty heroic. The way he looked out for Rachel the entire book just made me swoon; it was adorable! I just loved him.
I'm sorry the details are a bit vague, but it's been almost two weeks since I read the book; I've just been really busy! Either way, I hope it's enough! I definitely recommend this book, and the rest of the series, to anyone who enjoys cutesy scenes and protective men! This book definitely has it all!

8.5 stars! Congrats!!

With love, from us at the Infinite Worlds to you, keep reading and enjoying all there is to offer!
Much love,
~Kay and Arya

The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead

'I faked a yawn and leaned back into the couch. "Maybe she figures if we're well fed, you two won't look that appetizing."
Zoe was too horrified to respond, and Eddie shot me a withering look. "Enough. It's not hard to order pizza. I'll do it." '
~The Fiery Heart

In The Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the Alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her. . . .

But the struggle isn't over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there's still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure—and re-education—looms larger than ever.

Pulses will race throughout this thrilling fourth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe.

Arya: I wasn't particularly sure what to think about this book, but I do know that I was dying to read it. After what happened at the end of The Indigo Spell, I knew I had to get my hands on this as soon as I could. However, as I read it, while there were a lot of great parts that had me laughing and moaning with mushiness, I also found the book a bit too slow-paced for my own personal taste. Of course, there was always the idea of the forbidden romance between our two star-crossed lovers, but after a while, it just seemed so natural to hide, as if there were no end in sight. What I loved the most though, was the ending. It was just freaking perfect. An Alchemist giving herself up to protect a dhampir? Pure gold. As for Zoe... if I said I didn't expect that from her, I'd be lying. Throughout the book it just seemed like she was out to get Sydney, and damn, what an annoying little sister she is! I mean seriously, selling out your sister to get your father's attention? That's cold. By the way, the top teaser with Zoe? I love how they seemed to be having such a serious discussion and it turns out to be over pizza. Eddie to the rescue! I love him xD.
Alright, we'll start with Sydney. I honestly thought she showed a lot of weakness in this book, with the emotions and crying. I loved every second of it. For those who don't know, I happen to be a huge fan of flawed characters; characters that are perfect to the end just don't do it for me, mostly because it seems to unrealistic. Sydney thankfully wasn't one of those characters. In this book, we can see her taking steps to ensure her own happiness rather than worrying what everyone else thinks. She seems to finally fall down to being equal to Adrian rather than his superior, which I absolutely love. The way she was portrayed in this book was just perfect.
Adrian: Everyone knows I like talking about male characters, mostly because they entertain me the most. Well, for this one, while I can't exactly say that he thrilled me, he did shock me. This was the first time I remember him ever taking his own health into consideration, and saw his compassion for others in full blast. I was blown away. Beyond that, I saw how much he cared about Sydney, because come on, being in his head for the first time ever, how could I not see that? His love for our main character ran so deep I sometimes wondered how he didn't drown in it. And her birthday? I was almost swooning at that point. I mean, cupcakes? Asking people to help him? Eep! So adorable! And so completely envy-worthy! One of the most perfect guys ever right there. As for the blood thing... man, that part was so chivalrous I was staring at the page for a few minutes trying to understand it. Just, wow.
As for the rest of the characters, well... let's just say there are a lot of happily ever afters for some couples in this book, and for two characters in particular... hell's about to come to Earth. I mean really, it was kind of expected, especially after hinting to it for so long, but to have it actually happen? That's something in itself altogether. I loved the plot twists and 'what the hell' moments in this book, and I loved the magic and emotions that raced through me during this. Great book, just great.

From the depths of Arya's mind, the rating is...
8 stars out of 10!!! Yay!!!

Now, if blogger were agreeing with me, you'd see some book trailers, but since it isn't, here's the link for them!
Enjoy!

So, from us at Infinite Worlds to you, happy reading
Much love,
~Arya

Sentinel by Jennifer L. Armentrout

"Gods were like opossums. You could go your whole life without seeing one, but once you found one of them, you found the whole freaky family."
~Sentinel

It's a beautiful day for a war.

As the mortal world slowly slips into chaos of the godly kind, Alexandria Andros must overcome a stunning defeat that has left her shaken and in doubt of their ability to end this war once and for all.

And with all the obstacles between Alex and her happily-ever-after with the swoonworthy Aiden St. Delphi, they must now trust a deadly foe as they travel deep into the Underworld to release one of the most dangerous gods of all time.

In the stunning, action-packed climax to the bestselling Covenant series, Alex must face a terrible choice: the destruction of everything and everyone she holds dear… or the end of herself.

Arya: I have absolutely no words. Well, maybe I do, so you'll have to forgive the verbal diarrhea, er, literary diarrhea. I have honestly been waiting for Sentinel since I first read Half-Blood and fell in love with it. It just completely stole me over and held me in an impossibly tight grip, especially Aiden St. Delphi. I'd be lying if I ever said there was another character I wanted to come to life more. I've read a lot of books and none of them come even close to topping him. Seriously. So, when I read this, I have to admit I was a bit terrified, mostly because I didn't want Alex's story to come to an end. Really, she's like Rose Hathaway from Vampire Academy, except maybe just a tad bit crazier. Still, as I read through the story, my heart went from 'holy crap' to 'awwww' to 'oh my gosh are they serious?!' and finally more 'awwwwww!' Really, when I first understood what was happening to Alex, I just couldn't breathe. I'd never even thought something like that could happen, and again Jennifer managed to blow my socks off with her creativity. I mean seriously, I spent a lot of that time going 'what the hell just happened'. Of course there were the parts that made me honestly laugh my head off, like the part listed above, and one of the quotes that's a teaser actually, where Apollo threatened to turn Seth into a pink flower that smells like cat pee. That seriously made me laugh a lot. The entire book, even though I knew I should have been doing my homework, just blew me away. I couldn't peel my eyes from it no matter how hard I tried. My heart was pounding so fast I thought it would burst out of my chest. And at the ending... my good God, the ending. I swear I wanted to strangle Jennifer for a bit. There were tears pouring out of my eyes - thankfully I wasn't in class during the time. Can you say awkward? - I mean, its not supposed to happen like that! But then afterwards, she resolved it, and though I must say I would have preferred it not come to that at all, a part of me always knew it would happen... and it made me sad. Like the others blogs I've read have said: it really is a bittersweet ending for the most beautiful couple I've ever read about. They deserve each other perfectly, and being together for eternity is the best gift either could have.
Even though I say that, I felt like there were a few loose ends, especially with Seth. I, unlike a lot of people it seems, have never had anything against him. The lust of power makes people do stupid things, I get that, and I don't begrudge it to him. But I feel as if he doesn't have his ending yet, his happily ever after that he so desperately deserves. He repented, he really did, and ultimately, he did the most selfless thing ever. I really hope Jennifer writes in a story just for him, because God knows that boy has been to hell and back, literally. Seth matured a lot in this book, finally seeing what he's really done, and repenting for it. I was actually cheering for joy when he showed up and begged to be forgiven. His ego went down, and he understood what it was to be selfless. My heart went out to him, and again, I love him and Alex together. He deserves good things to happen to him.
Aiden. Ah, my favorite character for as long as I've know the existence of the Covenant series. There are just too many things to say about him! In this book, again I fell in love with him with his undying devotion to Alex, and finally, we see a little jealousy going on! I was laughing so hard at that, and really, he has a right to be jealous; Alex put him through a lot. But even so, he was just so sweet about everything, and he admits his fault, but turns them into ways where it's just the best for her. Through the book, though Aiden seems to stay as this God-like being that Alex has always seen in him, we also see his vulnerability, admission that he is not the best anymore, and in a way, he became younger in my eyes. It might have helped that Alex matured more to match his age, but she also still had her child-like happiness surrounding her. He was just so amazing I couldn't even breathe around how badly I wanted someone exactly like him. His devotion to her, to the very end just took my breath away. Aiden St. Delphi, you will definitely always be in my heart.
And finally is Alex. Alexandria Andros who reminded me of my all -time favorite heroine Rose Hathaway yet again with her stunts and vulnerability. In this book, we see the sense of fear that almost always seem to elude our beautiful protagonist, and we see her hesitate in the middle of a fight. A lot of the time, before I really knew what was happening, I wanted to shake her until her head came off her shoulders just because she was being so damn crazy! When I finally understood, and she went back to normal, I can't even tell you how relieved I was. It was like a huge load had been lifted off my shoulders! But the reason Aiden and she had for her sudden shift in mood, and Marcus' response? Priceless. I freaking loved that part. I just laughed so hard at that part I had problems breathing. Alex just matured so much in this book, and at the end, her actions were so totally selfless it blew me away. She's become such a great person that it's hard to let her go as I must do now.

9.5 stars! Congratulations!
Of course, there is me praying that there will be another story for the first time Aiden and Alex return back to Earth and everybody's response to their appearance, and when they see Seth again. Fingers crossed for such a story! I'd love it ^-^

Of course thank you to Jennifer L. Armentrout for writing this amazing story for us!

Of course, like all good things, this must come to an end, though I may not want it to.
Alex Andros, Aiden St. Delphi, Seth-whose-last-name-I-do-not-know, your story may be over, but you'll always be living in my heart.

~Much love

Sentinel Tour!

There is need. And then there is Fate.
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her. When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon--and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude--or killing her. When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone

“Ever since I’ve met you, I’ve wanted to break every rule.” Aiden turned away, the muscles in his neck tensing. He sighed. “You’ll become the centre of someone’s world one day. And he’ll be the luckiest son of a bitch on this earth.”
What a beautiful, damn sexy quote! I wish I had an Aiden in real life... *Arya crying* Ah well

I remember the first time I read Pure. I'd actually only just finished Half-Blood, and anxious doesn't even begin to describe how I was feeling at that point. I seriously NEEDED to get my hands on the book. And believe me when I say it did not disappoint. I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed it! There were parts in it that made me want to bawl my eyes out, and sections where I swear I would have killed Jennifer for what she did! My emotions were all over the place, and for those who have read a few of my other reviews, you know that's exactly what I love in a book. That ending though... that ending. I can't even tell you how much it pissed me off. I don't mean a piss-me-off-this-book-is-crap way, but a what-the-hell-how-can-you-just-leave-it-like-that way. That cliffhanger! Good God I wanted to strangle the woman! But I couldn't, because that would mean I wouldn't get to know the rest of the series, thereby making me cry. But really, Pure was, in my opinion, definitely one of the best books I've ever read. I should actually go read the series again now before Sentinel gets to my house... well then! Enjoy the rest of the tour!

You can still buy Pure at: Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes and Noble

For JLA – Pure has been called Seth’s book.  Did fans reaction to Seth surprise you?  I wasn’t really surprised by the reaction to Pure because I knew that the book focused more on Seth than Aiden.

For Alex -  Knowing what you know about Leon, do you think there was more to him being the one to find you in labyrinth?  Oh, I’m sure there was more to it.

For Aiden -  By far, the zoo was the best scene in Pure.  What did you enjoy most about being at the zoo with Alex?  I loved knowing that I was doing something for her that made her happy.

For Seth – That whole sleeping issue that you and Alex have in Pure, did you realize what was up or were you just going with it?  I would’ve just gone with it.  But, truth?  I knew what was up.

I had led us into a trap. "Maralchi, I'm sor-"
"Shhhh." His hand found mine. I absorbed the warm pressure of his fingers through my skin anbd drew my strength from it. "Focus."
We were going to have to fight out way out of here, and I was his only backup.
~Fractured

In the week since Lela returned to Rhode Island as Captain of the Guard with Malachi as her second in command, local news has been dominated by chilling sightings of human-like creatures running on all fours. Lela knows there’s only one explanation: the Mazikin have arrived in the land of the living.

Needing to maintain the appearance of a normal life for her foster mother, her probation officer, and her classmates, Lela returns to Warwick High along with Malachi. At night they secretly hunt for the Mazikin nest. To assist, two new Guards from very different parts of the Shadowlands are assigned to Lela’s unit, including the bad boy Jim, who repeatedly challenges Lela's authority. Lela struggles to keep all her Guards on the right side of the law, but their mistakes come at a terrible cost.

As one painful revelation follows another and the Mazikin start targeting those closest to her, Lela finds herself more vulnerable than she’s ever been, wanting a future more than she ever has. With an enemy determined to separate soul from body, one question remains: how much is she willing to sacrifice to protect those she loves?

Arya: I have to be honest when I say this: when I first started out with this book, I wasn't very sure what to think about it. Sure, I had an awesome time reading Sanctum, the first book in the Guards of the Shadowlands series, but while at first I was craving the second book desperately, when it finally got into my hands, I was a bit hesitant, mostly because I had absolutely no idea what to expect. Most series that I enjoy follow somewhat the same path, with the whole girl meets boy, they fall in love, forbidden romance, girl has to fight off some ancient evil / new nemesis, finished, happily ever after business, and yet, this one, while generally following the same sequence, had startling new aspects to it. I mean seriously, Sanctum and Fractured were just "... wait, what?" I can honestly say I've never seen anything even close to what Sarah Fine has done, and I really loved it more than I thought I could.
Fractured picks up right where Sanctum left off, which, for those who don't know, is when Malachi and Lela are forced back into the mortal world to face the Mazikin that have ventured into the land of the living. At first the book seemed a little slow to me, with exactly what was expected: them trying to pretend to be a normal couple and scouting. However, throw in some new characters with their own problems and bam! Suddenly you have a new plot, especially when you add in some characters from the last book that really weren't that important, and somehow suddenly are... Kinda strange, but I can swing with it.
As the story progressed, it's easy to see how Malachi and Lela each show different sides of themselves. Our male lead shows that he too has his own inner demons, and Lela proves to us that she really can be a leader, and is more than the rebel foster kid she once was. It's kinda touching, and in a way also really sad, especially with what Malachi does to her. I mean really! Sure, we all have our own problems, but you're going to break a girl's heart just so you can protect her? I mean, am I the only one seeing how him leaving her and flirting with other girls is just crushing her? Guys can be so cruel sometimes. Even though I say that, I can kind of understand his logic. Malachi just didn't want to kill another human, and in order to keep that from happening again, he thought he had to stop being so distracted by Lela. Mean, and yet so true. Really, the guy kinda did the best he could in the given situation, though he probably made the wrong decision.
When I got to the ending... that cliffhanger... I swear I mean it when I say I spent about five minutes looking at the screen of my phone going "what. the. hell." How can you just leave it like that?! I mean, I kinda get it, being an aspiring author myself, but man! For a reader, it just totally kills me. I need to know what happens! I have to know what happens to them in the next book! But Goodreads doesn't tell me when it's coming out, so I have to wait, and so do all of you. Believe me when I say this: you will be dying for the next book when you get to the ending, because I definitely was.
All in all though, I loved the way Sarah wrote the book; it was concise, it was alluring, and it had an amazingly original plot. The way the story flowed just seemed to work all on its own, and was definitely one of the better things I've read in the last month. Her writing style and her descriptions are just beautiful, to the point where I could really see myself in the town she described, and the terror as Lela faced down her worst nightmare. Really, it was just beautiful, and I would recommend it to all readers who enjoy supernatural combat and forbidden love.

Not very sure what to say, but I guess I'll stick with this:

8.5 stars! Congrats, and I can't wait to read the next book!

Trust In Me by J. Lynn

She jerked upright. Deep auburn hair flew forward, snapping me in the face. The scent off berries and something musky and good filled me.
Holy shit, Strawberry Shortcake just ran me over.
~Trust In Me

Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life – literally – he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam’s not ready to give up. He can’t get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery's life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

Arya: Alright, I was totally stoked for this book to come out from the moment I knew it was actually becoming a book. I mean, really, Wait For Me was already an awesome book, but getting to read it from Cam's point of view? Definitely the highlight of my week.
I actually really liked this book... but not as much as I thought I would. For a lot of it, I felt as if Jennifer was just listing the events as we saw in Wait For Me, but she didn't put much of Cam's emotions or thoughts into it as she did for Avery in the original, which was the entire point of the novella. It was a bit upsetting, not seeing his emotions out there on display, and more than that, she didn't explain the cookie obsession! I still don't know what cookies are a code for! That was rather annoying for me. However, for the parts where she did describe our lovely male's thoughts, it was mind-blowing. I drank up every word of it greedily, and there were seriously parts in the story where I thought I'd burst into tears... which was pretty strange since I was reading it in the middle of class... Yeah, I'm not a great role model x'D. Anyway, the way she described him, the detail and the immensity of his heartbreak and adoration just completely blew me away! I loved every single minute of it. I only mourn the fact that there weren't more of those scenes. I mean seriously, who doesn't love a guy who says he's going to marry a girl just after seeing her dance at a party and means it? It definitely turned me into a pile of mush. There's also the fact that there were so many scenes in the book that weren't in the original, and it gave us a new outlook on Cam and Avery, and their relationship. It just made me love them all the more with their cutesy scenes. But again, this book, while perhaps not Jennifer's best work, was definitely somewhere near the top of the list. I loved every single second I spent on this, even though a lot of it just seemed like listing events, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone into romance.

What's my rating? It's really very simple...
8.5 stars out of 10! Congrats!

Until next time! Keep reading and exploring the Infinite Worlds

The Summer I Found You by Jolene Perry

Jolene Perry's THE SUMMER I FOUND YOU, about a teenage girl trying to cope with her new diagnosis of type one diabetes and a teenage male veteran who is learning how to embrace his new life after losing an arm, who come together by using each other as an escape, only to discover through love and struggle that your life is what you make of it.

**Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! :)

The story is about a girl name Kate and a guy name Aiden. Both with hidden problems that they recenty acquired and both who are trying to learn to deal with it. First off, I would like to say that this book does have a HEP and looks like to be a standing novel. (I hate it when a book has a cliffhanger; this one doesn't!) As Kate tries to learn to live life with her newfound friend, diabetes, and Aiden trying to live life without is arm they are someone compelled to each other. (I personally think it's because they have something to relate to).

I think that this book is like perfect for a relaxing read. Nothing to stressful or serious but there were a few parts that almost made me cry... ALMOST ... (the part where it showed that AIDEN REALLY CARED!)

It's pretty interesting and something I can relate to... their relationship anyhow lol, but I think Perry did a really good job on such a sweet story. Nothing I can gush much about or complain about.

RATING: 6.5/10

Unraveling by Micalea Smeltzer

16083887

Excerpt:
“Ohmigawd! Katy! Did you hear? Some guy just punched this other guy because he was groping on some girl! Apparently he broke his nose!” Noticing my sheepish glance at the guy beside me Rollo’s mouth popped open. “Oh gawd, it was you, wasn’t it?”
   I bit my lip.
“She told him to stop.” He let go of my hand and crossed his arms over his lean chest. “He didn’t listen.”
I missed the feel of his hand in mine, which was strange. Ever since that night, I didn’t like to be touched by anyone. I must be in some alternate universe. Either that, or aliens had taken over my body. I never even talked to strangers, let alone let them hold my hand.
“Ohmigawd! Katy, are you okay? I should’ve been there! I know you haven’t been the same since-”
I waved my hand in an effort to shut him up. My sexy rescuer didn’t need to know my business. No one did. Everyone already thought I was weird and a freak, I’d prefer to keep my savior in the dark.

Katy Spencer's life fell apart two years ago. Since then, she's closed herself off. She's a shell of the person she used to be. The only person she trusts is her best friend Rollo, but even he can't keep the nightmares away. Then she meets Jared. He's the first man she's been around since the event that she's not afraid of. He makes her heart race, not in fear, but in a fluttering that could become something meaningful.
Jared can tell that Katy is broken. He sees something in her eyes that he’s often seen reflected in his own.

Pain.

Fear.

Self-loathing.

Jared is determined to get to know her.
He wants to solve the mystery of Katy Spencer.

He will… unravel her.

A story about two people with dark pass both not knowing what they're searching for. Then by fate they meet each other one night, and keep running into each other. Their connection is undeniable,, so see how the story unravels.

What I adored about this book:
-the funny gay friend
-how sweet they are together
-their ways of finding each other
-their adorable dates
-how awesome Katy is at times
-how sweet Jared is

What I really not liked in this book:
-way too many descriptions
-it's missing a VERY important scene
-it's really slow with mundane things

The story is very detailed, and I like detailed things, however, this made the story have a really slow pace! (Also I read the second book first which I liked at lot more) I'm a very impatient person and I caught myself skimming parts because it wasn't very interesting. The story plot itself was very well done, considering it had a hea ending ! Otherwise I would say that read it if you're in the mood to relax and enjoy a long romance !

Rating:

7/10

Unchained by J. Lynn

Julian tipped his head to the side, inhaling deeply. "You're wondering why I saved you." The way his eyes drifted shut and his lips curved into a small made her quiver in all the wrong - right - places. "If anyone is to kill you, it will be me."
~Unchained

Between the pissed off creatures that want demon-hunter Lily Marks dead and the fallen angel who just...wants her, Lily is about ready to trade in forever for a comfy job in a cubicle farm.

The fact that she and Julian are civil to one another is enough to have her thrown out of the Sanctuary, but she can't shake her not-so-angelic stalker or how he brings her dangerously close to ecstasy.

Her forbidden relationship with Julian provides the perfect fuel for suspicion when a traitor is discovered to be working within the Sanctuary. Lily quickly finds herself hunted by well, everyone.

Her only hope is to discover the real traitor before she loses everything--and she'll need Julian's help. That is, if Julian is really there to help her...and not destroy her.

Yeah, being a Nephilim isn't everything it's cracked up to be.

Arya: As I have always said, I've read pretty much everything by Jennifer L. Armentrout, who takes on her saucier, older alter-ego in the first instalment of the Nephilim Rising series. And may I say, it certainly took off with a bang! It had all the elements that makes a good book (or at least a good book in Arya's world): a kick-butt heroine, the crazy best friend/older brother, villains that make you tremble in fear, and the every-present sexy-as-death male lead. However, there was something about this book that disappointed me a little. Perhaps it was the lack in any real, shall we say, factors that make it stand out. It was far too plain, not adding anything new that would make it excel. A lot of the book was rather predictable, and so it fell just a bit short of my expectations.
Let's start with Lily. An awesome monster fighting heroine who likes to play arrogant prick. She's a good character; very funny, very strong, and a girl who loves to be the midst of fights. Her love for weapons is amazing, and her intellect in a fight is astounding, proving to be far more into details than perhaps Alex of the Covenant series. We also see that she's very secure in what she is, but not who she is, something that Julian points out to her later, a scene that frankly made my heart swell. She's a good heroine, I don't doubt that, but it seems to me in a few parts that her character is perhaps a bit... unrealistic. I mean, wishing the man who just told you you couldn't do what you've been doing for years good luck and telling him to stay safe? A bit odd. Truly, with her character, I expected her to be screaming and shouting, not holding her tongue. It's clear that she matures throughout the story, but there're so few scenes of it that it made it a bit iffy.
Luke: Luke I like! I really liked Luke in the story, the way he's protective over her, but really, there were so many hints of what he did that it was hard to be surprised at all when it was revealed. But it did surprise me after that! What he did after we found out his reasoning was awesome! Mostly because it was unpredictable. I love books where I can't guess what's going to happen, so it keeps me on my toes!
Julian: Ahhh, the male lead, always a fun character to write about. It still strikes me as odd, how a being even several millennia old, could possibly be so patient! Really, to let a girl hit you so many times and accuse you for a crime you didn't commit? It's hard to see that being plausible, but hey, some guys are like that, so who am I to accuse? Julian is really a great character; I liked him a lot, but again he lacked that extra oomph that made a lot of other books such a success. He's sweet, and charming, and gives pretty great sex from what it says, but really, there weren't as many touchy-feely scenes as I would have liked.
Over all, a pretty decent book, but not one recommended to an audience who likes a bit of mash up in their books. If you like the typical love story, this is definitely the one for you!

A lot of you may not like me anymore after that review, but here it is anyway!
8 stars out of 10!

Until next time! Much love!

Angel Fever by L.A. Weatherly

"So, you get to be the navigator," I said, deliberately cheerful as I leaned over to pluck the atlas from the footwell and tossed it on his lap. I started the engine. "And that's Timmy. Say hi to Timmy."
Seb raised an eyebrow at the laminated photo. "Hola, Timmy - ¿qué hay? I think you've been alone too long," he added as he opened the atlas.
And despite everything, suddenly I was grinning. "Hey, that's nothing," I said as I steered us out of the parking lot. "Just wait until you hear my singing repertoire."

~Angel Fever, Willow and Seb

As half-angel Willow strives to save the world from her parasitic otherworldly kin, romance and tension heat up to a climactic finale.

In the devastated remains of the world, millions of people live in "refugee" camps provided by the angels who have all but enslaved humanity. As this angelic stranglehold tightens, Willow and Alex are recruiting and training new Angel Killers while struggling to hold ground on the celestial battlefield. But Willow continues to have feelings for Seb, and her love and resolve are tested as a shattering revelation sends Alex on a separate journey. Now that the final battle versus the angels is about to begin-and the fate of the world hangs in the balance-each of them must face the consequences of their own choices. Will love endure? Will the human race survive?

Arya: I know everyone's been waiting a long time, and I'm sorry for the delay; I was actually reading a different book... You might hear a review from it soon! Anyway, back to Angel Fever. I was addicted to this series from the moment I picked up Angel and I met Willow and Alex. Can you say power couple? In the breathtaking conclusion to the Angel series, L.A Weatherly took me so many emotions my mother almost caught me crying when I was reading... so you can definitely expect some pretty touching, and heartbreaking scenes in here! Like I've said before, I love books that take me through every emotion possible, from heart-pounding fear, an insane case of the giggles, and best of all, mushiness! This book had it all. I couldn't take my eyes off the pages at all.
Let's start with our amazing heroine Willow. Most of us have always scene her under Alex's protective wing, and now we get a hint to see her take charge, become the amazing leader we all knew she had in her. We step away from the happy visage she always had and take it a bit darker in this final instalment, feeling her heart-break, desolation and anger within the pages. Everyone who reads this and has read the rest of the series will be able to tell how much Willow matured in this last book, and finally found the power to do what she was always meant to do, with a twist.
And now for Seb. Perhaps this guy has a bit of a bad rep, trying to steal Willow from Alex, but I always felt kinda bad for the guy. I mean, loving a chick for 14 years just to find her and realize she's into another guy? That's pretty tough. However, as this book progresses, we can see just how much Seb actually learns to love Willow, and really, his anger at her and his strive to distance himself? Complete failure. For those who wanted Seb to suffer, I don't care; he gets a happily ever after too! And surprises... Seb meets someone closely related to him! Read the book when it comes out to find out who; you won't regret it. In the end, *SPOILERS!!!* for those who were pro Seb-Willow, sorry guys, he finally realized he and Willow were only ever siblings, and as it comes to it, maybe best friends.
Now my favourite character: Alex! Now, everyone knows Kylar as the tough, leader character. Well in this book, we finally see his stupid side. And it is a very stupid side. Of course, in the given circumstances, we might have all done the same thing to protect the one we love, but really, the words he says later? I really wanted to smack some sense into that boy. Just a hint? You can't make up for your girlfriend thinking you're dead. Still, his realizations later, and his undying devotion to Willow just made me want to squeal with happiness, then yell at Willow for being mean to him, but she was a realistic character, so it's okay... I'm supposed to be talking about Alex! Anyway, from his physical exertion, and taking on thousands of angels without a second thought, all for her... his devotion is truly envy-worthy and admirable. He's so cute! They way their relationship is described; their loving words, hidden looks, all of it is so beautiful. And of course... who ends off a story without a bang? This one certainly has it! The best part about this is that we also see Alex's selflessness and humility: his willingness to step away from Willow if she wanted it even though it tore him apart, then come back to beg on his knees for her. Really, he's a hero, and he's still willing to beg. It's pretty awesome. He's an amazingly realistic character, and definitely on my list of book boyfriends ^-^.
All in all, great story, amazingly vivid descriptions and just one of my favourite series that ended perfectly. I recommend this series, and especially this book to all readers!

From the depths of the abyss that is Arya's mind...
9 stars out of 10! Yay!!!!!

Kay's Review: Hiya! sorry about the late review, but here is the beginning of review from up to chapter 20 http://infiniteworldsreviews.blogspot.ca/2013/09/angel-fever-by-la-weatherly-day-2.html
After finishing the book, I had sat there with a stupefied smile one my face. Throughout the course of the novel Weatherly continued to give us drama and action just as the story feels a bit slow. However I found that most of the story is pretty predictable! But for one part in the middle that went WHOOOA ! STOP ! THERE! NOW! I love that we were able to see the stronger side of Willow and the weaker side Alex. We were also able to understand Seb's side of the story and find out more about the various characters throughout the story. In the end we were placed back to were the story had all started and I was able to find that this was perfect and reminded my of a Harry Potter quote: "It opens at the close" as this part of Willows' and Alex's story may have ended but another chapter have opened up for them. Although this is definitely the last book I think that we can easily imagine what the pair of them can do as they continue through the ruins that the angel's have made. I surely hope that I would be able to read another one of LA Weatherly's books as it was truly remarkable and stunning. The finale to the Angel trilogy was simply the sweet cherry on top for the series... until next time!

RATING:
8.7/10

Hopefully you can't wait until the book comes out! Until then.
Much love,
