Awaken by Meg Cabot

Excerpt:

In school they told us to follow the rules.

Don’t talk to strangers. Safety first, they said. Walk, don’t run — unless it’s from a stranger, of course. We were supposed to run from strangers as fast as we could, the way Persephone, the girl from that old Greek myth, tried to when Hades, the lord of the dead, came after her.

Funny thing about the rules, though. Sometimes they were wrong. According to the rules, no one in our own families was ever supposed to hurt us.

Not running from my own flesh and blood was my first mistake. (P.4)

Kay's Review:
Since Arya haven't read it yet!!
Since it took awhile between the second book Underworld and Awaken to come out, the first thing I had to to do is reread the summaries of both Abandon and Underworld to jog my memory of what happened!
One thing for sure, is that like all of Meg Cabot books and series, it ends in a satisfactory way, where things all work out and everything makes some sense. Which I particularly like due to the fact that I am a sucker for happy endings.
The story may end up sad in the beginning but then the story definitely picks up after a few chapters!
There are a few new characters that comes into play, and not to mention, the sparks between John and Pierce continues to fly, and when I mean fly, I mean. John dies, Pierce saves him, and booooom FIREWORKS! (if you get what I mean ;) )
Also in the final book, we finally get to meet Pierce's dad, who by a phone call can help solve John's current problem,  and also he was this fascination with John's crazy dead, transport, reviving powers. YES! PIERCE'S PARENTS FINDS OUT WHAT IS GOING ON!! haha yea. Also along the way a crazy hurricane happens, we discover an ancient burial ground, we meet a minor god, and we also may or may not beat the Furies.

I personally think that this book was a great ending to the trilogy. It was filled with action, especially a final battle scene, romance between many of the characters which leads you to start playing matchmaker as the story progresses, and of course how Pierce Oliviera comes and become an amazing heroine. I would definitely suggest for you to read this book, especially if you have already read the first to books in this trilogy, and if you haven't... well READ THEM FIRST ! unless you're the type of person that likes to read the ending before the beginning.. then read this one first!

Hope you enjoy ! Happy reading!!
